InComm Healthcare ties up with TruHearing to integrate Hearing Services into Healthcare Benefits
Hearing services will be included in InComm Healthcare’s multi-wallet benefit card, thanks to a partnership between InComm Payments and TruHearing, a supplier of hearing benefits solutions.
TruHearing provides the broadest range of best-in-class hearing benefits to address quickly changing market dynamics and allow healthcare plans to tailor their hearing benefits to best suit their strategic goals. The multi-wallet benefit card from InComm Payments allows health insurers to give their members several supplemental benefit and wellness incentive programs on a single card.
According to a recent poll conducted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), more than half of individuals have hearing impairments, yet only 11% have sought treatment.
A total of 44% of people with untreated hearing loss mentioned financial hurdles as impediments, including the expense of hearing therapy and a lack of insurance or enough coverage.
As part of the agreement, the InComm Healthcare Benefit Card will be included as a payment option for hearing aid items and services in TruHearing’s proprietary benefit, provider, and customer management platform, Echo.
InComm Healthcare offers a program that allows healthcare plans to distribute funding to certain critical healthcare advantages, such as:
Dental, vision and hearing
Home-delivered meals and produce
Internet and utility bill payments
Incentives & Rewards
Health plans may mix and match many benefits on a single customizable card, and they also get detailed compliance data by benefit category, which makes yearly plan maintenance easier.
Covered members may get audiological tests from the U.S.’s largest network of over 7,000 provider locations. They will also get remote care and telehealth services and hearing devices from the world’s top six hearing aid manufacturers, all of which can help them enhance their health and quality of life. Untreated hearing loss causes people to retreat from social situations, leading to isolation, loneliness, and despair. Hearing health is connected to general health, and untreated hearing loss can cause balance problems, leading to falls and higher healthcare expenditures. Hearing aid coverage encourages therapy that can reduce these risks.
“The addition of TruHearing’s benefits to our network will further enhance the convenience we deliver to health plans and their members through access to multiple in-demand benefits and services on a single card,” said Brian Parlotto, Executive Vice President at InComm Payments. “We’re excited to further enhance our robust hearing benefits solutions with new alternatives for healthcare plans by joining InComm Healthcare’s network,” said Tommy Macdonald, CEO at TruHearing. “This partnership further strengthens our mission to give individuals with hearing problems access to affordable diagnosis and treatment.”
