Google Pay will be made available to Revolut Junior users in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area, said the financial Superapp currently claims to have more than 18 million users globally.

The decision to introduce Google Pay was in response to customer input gathered over the last few months, particularly from parents and adolescent children.

Teenagers will be able to make quick and hassle-free payments from their Junior account using their smartphones, making life easier for them.

Google Pay allows kids to pay without carrying or using their credit cards, press physical buttons, or exchange currency. Revolut cards can be used with digital wallets like Google Pay, which are widely accepted and safer than traditional cards or cash.

Users simply hold their supported Android device near a payment terminal to make contactless payments using Google Pay. Every transaction is safe since it is verified using Face ID, Touch ID, or a device passcode. Google Pay is widely accepted in various locations, including grocery stores, pharmacies, taxis, restaurants, coffee shops, and retail outlets. Customers can also make purchases via applications or on the web without registering accounts or filling in shipping and billing information several times.

“Customer desires drive most of Revolut‘s product development, and which exceptions. Our research shows that young people have a strong preference for digital wallets. Bringing Google Pay to teens simplifies payments with Revolut Junior and adds an extra layer of safety – for teens and their parents. We’re moving towards a cashless society, and the pandemic has accelerated digital payment trends even more. We’ve come a long way since piggy banks with cash and kids need new too, ls to evolve with this shift,” said Tara Massoudi, Head of Product for Revolut Junior.

Revolut Junior is a financial education platform for children and teenagers aged 6 to 17, with an emphasis on teaching them lifelong financial skills.

Revolut Junior was built exclusively for kids
to acquire money management skills via customized money tools, a personal account, and a card. It allows children to earn, manage, and spend money in a completely controlled setting by their parents.

Revolut Junior includes some crucial features to help youngsters earn, manage their money, and spend and create an account and purchase a card that can be used to spend online, in stores, or to withdraw money at ATMs.
Allowances enable parents to set up a standing order that automatically adds a specific amount of pocket money to their child’s account on a regular basis.

Challenges allow parents to assign tasks and to-dos to their children, each with a monetary value. Once accomplished, these can be labeled as done, and the parent can pay for the task.

Parents can use goals to construct money pots to help them save for the items they want, measure their progress, and celebrate their accomplishments.

The Revolut Junior account is an add-on to the parent’s account. Revolut Junior customers in the UK and EEA may use Google Pay, and it will soon be available in the US, Singapore, and Australia. To sign up for Google Pay, you must have a Google Account.
