Do you love learning?
Are you deeply curious about how students learn, and how to help them do it more fully and creatively? In more engaged ways that result in enduring understanding that changes lives?
Do you like to develop classroom and student-ready teaching materials?
Do you have experience taking an idea and creating a product using existing models and templates, as well as creating new ones from scratch?
Do you like graphic design–making use of colors, shapes, white space, and formatting to make ideas easy to understand and usable?
If this sounds like you, you might be interested in this opportunity.
Opportunity Details
Summary
You will be creating learning materials that students can use in K-12 and homeschool learning environments. The source material will vary, but much of it will (obviously) be based on the kinds of content published by TeachThought.
The work can start immediately and can end whenever you no longer feel like doing it. As it is a contract position, you’re your own boss, and your earning potential is limited only by the pace and quality of your work.
Other Details
All work will be submitted to me and I will be your main point of contact. Once the curricula has been approved, you will be paid within 72 hours.
The ideal candidate will work well on their own–self-starting and self-directed. And though I am always available to answer questions and provide feedback and support, it is vital that this person work well with that feedback and support being sometimes vague and infrequent.
Put another way, you’re essentially working on your own (thus the contract position angle) to produce quality digital products. If you’re not confident in your ability to do so, this may not be a good fit for you.
They will also be responsive to feedback, and authentically interested in the intellectual and human growth of teachers and students.
Your ideas and experiences are welcome. If you’ve got an idea for a product, I’m happy to take a look.
This is a remote position–work from wherever.
This is a contract-based position. As such, we are paying you a fee to perform a service but there is no official ’employment’ with TeachThought.
You will be paid per product created, and the amount will vary based on the curricula developed and the state of the source material (i.e., if you have to create something from scratch versus drag-and-drop into an existing template).
This work could make a nice resume-building position for the right person looking to gain experience in assessment, activity, unit, and lesson design.
Though the amount of available ‘work’ isn’t set in stone, this is likely best for someone looking for ‘part-time’ work, anywhere from 5-20 hours a week depending on your availability, ambition, and how long it takes you to produce quality learning materials.
If you’re interested in this opportunity, email me directly telling me in two paragraphs or less why you’re interested in this opportunity and why you think you’d be a good fit.
Please include a sample of a learning material that you’ve designed. If you’d like to include a professional reference you can, but it’s not absolutely necessary.
