Western Union and MoneyGram resume Money Transfer Service to Afghanistan
Western Union, and MoneyGram, Global Money transfer Services announced on Thursday that they would restart money transfer services to Afghanistan due to its economic difficulty following the Taliban’s takeover last month.
Western Union is glad to share that it is restarting its services in Afghanistan. A spokesman said it begins September 2 so that money transfers will be easy for those seeking help from their loved ones in these demanding times.
The service provides payments in Afghanistan by seven banks of United States dollars and Afghanis. However, a spokesman said money transfers got suspended due to liquidity issues and closed banking networks.
