ATF Prices Increased By 4.2%; Commercial LPG Rates Were Reduced By Rs 115.5
On Tuesday, oil marketing companies reduced the price of a commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 115.50. This is the seventh price reduction for the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder unit since June in response to falling international energy prices. Meanwhile, ATF prices increased by 4.2%.
According to a price notification from state-owned fuel retailers, the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) in the national capital has increased by Rs 4,842.37 per kilolitre, or 4.19 percent, to Rs 120,362.64 per kl.
This reverses a 4.5% decrease in jet fuel prices that took effect last month.
Individually, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in the national capital has been reduced to Rs 1,744 from Rs 1,859.50.
This is the seventh price cut for commercial LPG since June, with a drop in global energy prices.
Overall, rates have been reduced by Rs 610 per 19-kg cylinder.
On the other hand, LPG prices in household kitchens remained unchanged at Rs 1,053 per 14.2-kg cylinder.

This is because domestic cooking gas rates were much lower than cost, and with the decline in international prices, they are now at breakeven, according to industry sources.
Commercial LPG rates, however, have largely been cost-driven, moving in lockstep with the rise and fall of international prices.
Rates vary by state, depending on the presence of local taxes. Prices are compared to international rates for jet fuel and LPG, which do not always move in lockstep. Prices are determined by the global supply and demand situation.
While commercial LPG prices are updated monthly, ATF prices are updated every two weeks. On October 16, however, there was no change in jet fuel prices. Before that, they were reduced by Rs 5,521.17, or 4.5%, on October 1 and by 0.7% on September 1.
On the other hand, petrol and diesel prices have been frozen for an unprecedented seven months. In the national capital, a liter of petrol costs Rs 96.72, and a liter of diesel costs Rs 89.62.
